update

Tue May 19, 2009, 2:49 PM
In an effort to clean up my deviant gallery I have removed a number of photos that I felt were either repetitive or just not very good. If one of your favs was removed, I apologize. I reorganized the galleries while I was at it. Everything now falls within one of 3 categories: people, nature, and man-made. Some of the photos could easily be in more than one category, for instance a landscape that happens to have some buildings or people in it, for those I have just picked the one that i thought was most appropriate and stuck it there. For these 3 galleries I do not want any overlap. I'll building a couple more galleries before I am through. I will have one for photos taken for the Fightography project I am working on. And I will make a gallery for black and white photos. If I decide any other niche type galleries are needed I will make those as well.

Despite the deletions Deviant Art remains the largest collection of my photography on the web. It is not the most up-to-date collection, mostly due to the fact that dA doesn't let me do batch uploads of photos. When you combine that with the lack of relevance dA has to my evolving photography career I have been finding it difficult to find the energy to maintain this gallery with all of my newest work. I will get some of the new stuff up during the next few days though. I have a couple of days in a row with some free time and rather than clean my house I'll get some stuff posted. :)

I do have a new gallery up for my website: HassellPainter.com [link] It is hosted/administered by Zenfolio and I am pretty happy with it so far. From a business standpoint it is much more professional looking than dA. From an ascetics standpoint it is much better looking as well. dA seems to get uglier with each passing update. For a website based around artwork that is a bad thing. Anyway, check out the site and let me know what you think.

For Fightography we have a new website up with a trailer for the show. You can find it at fightography.tv [link] At the moment it is only a trailer and a form to sign up for more info as it becomes available. We have tentative pre-release party planned for June 7th at the Red Hawk Casino outside of Sacramento. The plan is for it to be a combination after-party for the WEC "Mike Brown v. Urijah Faber" fight and pre-release party for Fightography. If everything turns out the way we hope, the fighters will roll out to the Casino after the fight and we will debut the first episode of Fightography. Of course all of this is subject to change, I'm just the photographer and I don't always get the newest info. You can get latest by signing up on the fightography.tv though. So sign up and let me know where I need to be. :)
